I’m using version 0.10.0 rc2. To my knowledge this is still the latest Mac binary available. I have not had any issues with a blank TOC being generated.

The cool thing about this is that any format that can convert to pure HTML can be used. I’ve started using Kramdown for this.

As far as tweaking image sizes and line breaks… I would imagine that image sizes are not bad; you would just use standard CSS. As far as white space, not as powerful but there is some CSS3 support in wkhtmltopdf and that do what you are looking for.

Very interesting read. I am currently looking for a new workflow for my user guide. At the moment I am using Microsoft Word and am exporting to PDF (which has been fine) except I now want to offer a nicer online experience (non-PDF). Plus I have found that the document is a lot less comfortable to maintain in Word now because it’s getting quite long. despite using section breaks I am having a LOT of issues wi widow/orphan control when adding information about new features.

I am currently toying with these ideas:

- Use XML-safe HTML5 with some basic XSLT2 pre-processing followed by PDF conversion

- Use Docbook or DITA or a custom schema

With the approach that you mention, how easy is it to tweak image sizes and line breaks to avoid excessive white space?

Its midnight, my thesis is due in 9 hours, and all I want is to disable the track changes so that my adviser can’t see every change that has been proposed electronically over the past month. Each version of Word is worse than the last.

I could not agree more, I despise it to the core and resent all the time wasted that will never be returned to me.

I waste about half my time screwing around with this disgusting program. You make one small, simple change and something random happens. You need to go through three operations to do what other programs allow you to do in once shot. God… I curse them.

I will leave the comment about worrying about sin alone for now…

But regarding repentance, I am curious to know where the belief that you only repent once is grounded in? Acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is a one-time deal. We come into this world separated from Him and then when we become “saved” we vow to follow him and as such, we are reunited with His love. This is the act of repentance that Jesus talked about in Luke 15:7, no doubt!

But the Christian life doesn’t stop there. Having a repentant heart (present tense) means we are repenting of our past sins. We continue sinning: 1 John 1:8-9 says “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” This letter was not written to unbelievers, it was written to believers. James 5:16: “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” We are called to confess not only to God, but to each other so that our brothers and sisters can pray for our healing. We are called to repent if we offend someone (Luke 17:3). In Revelation, the person “like a son of man” called a Church to repent of its deeds.

God’s own people in the old testament were called to repent, much in the same way that we are called to repent ourselves.

In regards to the “measure” of faith: What do you measure it by? Romans 14:23… “ everything that does not come from faith is sin.” Using faith to measure how “grave” a sin is like measure love to see how bad cheating on your spouse is… How do you measure that? The idea that sins have different “graveness” is not biblical.

And you are right that we don’t have to worry about sacrifice anymore since Jesus was the propitiation for our sins! But that means simply that we live a new life, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have to confess our sins, we confess our sins so that our grace might increase. (Romans 6) Sin not being our master is to free ourselves from shame and to yoke ourselves to Christ. But it doesn’t mean we will never sin again.

Life is somthing un-expected at the time and moment happening. When somthing goes wrong and nothing and no one is there to help… well thats a peice of life!! When you fall in love and/or a break-up comes along thats another peice of life. When you tried your hardest and became all you could for a person to love you like a sister/brother/friend thats another. But really all you have to do in life is just live for God and do your best you can untill the end. I’m going to do that my best and hopefully become a wonderfull person that everyone wants to be around. I’m not saying popular is what I want… just a little respect thats all. I wish that you understand what I’m saying in that matter. I want for my future to be great. So exited to see what Me, my family, and friends will be in the future. But I’ll live and make mistakes and die thanking God for them even if they didn’t come out in the best result.
